Back in 1763, Ben Franklin, the Deputy Postmaster general, placed a milestone in Larchmont which read "21 mile from N.York." It still stands today and reminds us that while Larchmont and Mamaroneck are small seaside viaillages at heart, they are also only a step away from the bustle of modern Manhatten.
